Hi, I'm going to have my car serviced before it is due, there is currently 35k miles on the clock and I'm going to leave my regular mechanic perform the service. I've bought the oil myself and am planning on purchasing the oil filter from the local Jaguar dealership
rather than use a spurious one. Can anyone tell me what other parts I should look at changing now, fuel filter, air filter etc?

Three year service should be pollen filter, oil change, and air filter. Plus brake flush is due at the three year mark. Should be 0-20 oil also.

 

Thanks Rummy....should have mentioned it's a diesel engine should think I'm good with 0W 30 ?

 

Maintenance 3 on a diesel doesnt involve an oil change. Oil change intervals are every 20 in the US. Also it may depend on if you have a 2.0 or 3.0 diesel engine installed.

 

It’s funny how we all have different opinions/preferences about these things... at 35k miles /54k km I’d be changing all filters, oil and transmission, brake and power steering, and diff fluid.

And I’m of a school that thinks oil changes at 20,000 is ridiculous. There are a handful of times mine were changed as high at 10,000.

It’s not 0w 20 oil for the diesel. You need to check handbook but make sure you get the correct grade of oil. Servicing is easy . The oil filter is the same as in the XJ diesel and older XF diesel. The non OEM Are fine stick with cooper or even blueprint. I change my oil once a year or 12k miles whichever comes first including oil filter . Every second service I replace fuel , air and pollen filter along with oil filter .
