Default AdBlue in 2017 XF

Hi, I recently bought the above it had 18k miles on it and was serviced by the dealer before I bought it or so he told me anyway. AdBlue light is on now, with 24k miles on the clock. I've purchased a few litres from my local Jaguar dealer and will add it myself later on. Just wondering is there any issue with purchasing AdBlue from local motor factors and just using that stuff. There is a significant price differential between the Jaguar dealer supplied stuff and the regular motor factors.

Thanks,
Dave..

I went to Walmart, purchased the AdBlue for less than $20
Poured it in myself in minutes.
I've been averaging approx 4k-6k on refills.

Hi Dave

I’m in Dublin. As I understand it the Adblu has a certain std that must meet Jaguar Land Rover spec most are ok but I have seen some bad press on using the Halfords stuff . Check the handbook to see if the std is mentioned or on the filler cap in the boot.Dealer should have topped up the adblu if cars under warranty I would bring it back and ask them to top it up.

The dealer I went to tried to charge me $100 for the Jaguar's fault not to fill it to the cork, the car was only 2.5k miles when the warning light came on. The dealer tried to blame me saying that I'm idling too much. Now, car has 12k on a odo, and still running strong with out any warning. Beautiful thing they do blaming the customer. BTW, my car is under warranty and I have a complementary maintenance so I resisted to pay and they wrote it off.
