I've noticed the following Land Rover Evoque commercial a lot lately. At the end, is that a dig at Jag or homage to sister company or both? I don't have a lot of brand history to know if this is a recurrent theme between the two or not...

 

There's also the woman wearing a Jaguar-print dress at 0:15. Surely not coincidence.

 

So, do you think they're poking fun at the big cat as being nothing more than a kitten? Or, have I read to much into it?

 

What..there was a car in the commercial? After the woman in the print dress I got lost. LOL

Actually, I think the reference to the cat at the end was JLR's way to say this is a vehicle that is more docile than the big cat. Thus the small cat in the final frames.

A "City Kitty" compared to the jungle cat!

I think the whole premise of the commercial is that it's a small Range Rover in the city, so things a real Land Rover would have seen in the jungle are mimicked by their city counterparts.

The Jaguar print dress seemed intentional though...
