Question Auto Liftgate gone wild XF Sportbrake

2018 XF Sportbrake, the trunk used to open with he swipe of foot under either corner most every try, just a month ago, which seems to have stopped working. However now sometimes, just walking by it with the key in my pocket it opens automatically, almost walked into it a couple times now. I have tried many times to open it with foot gesture, which is really handy with skis on the shoulder, but it doesn't work at all anymore.

Has anyone else had any issues like this?

Possibly a sticking button on your Smartkey? The microswitch under the rubber pad stuck in the down (open) position.

Funny that you mention this - this happened to me today. 2018 Sportbrake. I was in a parking lot, walked behind the car and the rear hatch opened. I was thinking wow - is there a new feature here i was unaware of? But i could not recreate. I must have hit the keyfob (it was in my pocket) by accident?
