Default XF as the "family car"

Im in love with the XF. I however, have 2 small kids and we do a lot of road trips and they are imvolved in sports. My wife has a 3 series BMW. Am I going to wish I'd gone with a boring SUV? Make me feel good about my decision.

Nah, man. Never. We have an SUV as my wife's car (Nissan Murano) and for all the long trips the Jag is much better. Roomier and more comfortable. Carries a lot of stuff in the trunk too.

Agreed XF is a big car. 5-series size so a lot bigger than the 3-series

What about the F pace? Or are you looking used?

We have both an MDX (wife) and my XF, and two kids 4yrs and 9 months. Both vehicles work great...trunk on the XF is very big....

Really nice choice. I've got two kids, and we've driven the family on a couple of trips from Portland to Seattle. No complaints from the back row.

Congratulations Mark. We have had our 2016 Jaguar XF AWD V6 Supercharged 8 spd auto Prestige for 6 months. My wife can pack more goodies into the trunk(19 cu ft) than is believable. We love the car and it shows a lot of other cars the tailpipes!!!

I would have preferred the Sportbrake, I looked for 6 months and the only used ones were white or black and I wanted some kind of color.
When I got the XF (dark blue) I could see that when you open the trunk and lay down the rear seats you have more than 6ft of length back there, like for bringing lumber back from the yard.
I thought the Sportbrake would be a little more unique and I have always liked station wagons. 4 months now driving the XF I have only seen three others on the road.

Its a pity more weren't sold, but the SUV sweeps all before it, and the estate market seems to have disappeared now.

I love my SportBrake as a family, and occasionally dog hauler, still some great deals on New or low mile 2018's if you search AutoTrader.
Cargo space with rear seats down is amazing, I've hauled many items home from Home Depot in it.

Will be very interesting to see how the new 2020 Audi RS6 Avant (Wagon) sells in the US later this year, just like the SportBrake there was a lot of interest initially but when it actually came out no one bought them.

The dog is back there every weekend for trips up north, but it shines as a pickup truck for the hardware store runs. Family ski bus? Yep, got that on lock-down too.
Sportbrake is the best answer.
