Default Blind Spot Sensor

I am having a fault with my 2017 XF. After a car park tap right at the senor location (left rear). On every journey the blind spot system works fine and then I get a fault alert on the dash. I then just get a constant light on the wing mirrors. I pulled the sensor and do not see damage. Any troubleshooting thoughts please? Also, if i replace the sensor with new or used will Jaguar have to program? Thank you

A replacement SOD (side object detection) module will require reprogramming for two reasons:
1. the VIN resides in the module.
2. modules are programmed right or left .
So, new modules are not preprogrammed.
Used modules are programmed incorrectly.

SDD can evaluate the problem with diagnostic codes.

There is a reasonable possibility that reprogramming your existing modules may resolve the problem.

PS: your 2017 BSM/SOD modules communicate alerts to the RV mirrors via CAN. The earlier modules are wired directly.

Let us know what you find.
