Default Brake Bleed Valves/Nipples

Anyone know the spec of the caliper brake bleed valve/nipples on an XF Sportbrake 2017 2.0d

Im looking for diameter of the shank, TPI and length

Tried a 10mm spanner to loosen and the shoulders gave way. Suspect its an imperial fitment 3/8" perhaps following BSP specs?

I cant find any info online, the WSM doesnt mention it.

The hex nut size on the bleed valves front brakes is 3/8" for anyone reading. A lot of comments say m10, mine most certainly are not 10mm.

Got all excited for a moment, appeared to get a DM and thought someone on this website had a clue about anything in relation to these cars.

Nope: I got a badge!!! FKING BRILLIANT! 5 years membership and not a single useful reply to anything I've asked on here. Yay!

This is literally the only car forum I've ever been on where literally nobody seems to have a clue about these cars. I don't understand it.

Is the bleed nipple corroded/frozen in the caliper that prevents it turning? The brake bleed nipples are 11mm, not fractional.

It's best to use a spanner that is either a box/socket style or a flare style:

What is MY of the vehicle? How many kilometres/miles are showing on the instrument cluster?

I have seen quite a few knowledgeable replies. I have the downloaded XF workshop manual which is quite comprehensive, but not infallible. For instance one of the long aluminium roof trims catapulted off the roof of my car one day for no good reason. Actually there is a reason, that trim is not sufficiently bent and does not conform to the roof profile therefor making it into a spring. Also happened to another forum member so I could give him a clue how to fix.
There is no mention of that part anywhere in the manual. So it goes.
I have to say although I have 11mm spanners and sockets in my tool connection I do not think I have ever used them. Most engineers manage to design things needing either 10mm or 12mm tools.

If you look at the following Google extract you might think about joining and maybe find other XF owners who do have a clue to help you out.

Yes, there is a Jaguar Drivers' Club that serves the North East of England, including Tyne and Wear. The Tees Valley Jaguar Drivers' Club is an active club with members from the region, including those in North Yorkshire, Cleveland, Durham, and Northumberland.
