Hi all! I have the opportunity to purchase a 2017 XF S with around 16K miles (gas not diesel) for probably around $16000. The previous owner was older and did not drive the car all that much. Is there anything I should look out for that would be harder to find that would influence my buying decision?

All of the normal things like tires and interior and vehicle history/title I can research myself....I am seeing if anyone has advice on non obvious things that pop up with this model/year car that I should look out for?

Nothing wrong with it's 6 cyl SC engine. The only thing to watch out is the plastic coolant pipes leakage when the odometer reaches above 60K miles. Search and Read about plastic coolant pipes on this forum and what to do with it. But at that 16K miles nothing to worry about. Get a Carfax report for previous maintenance report and accident report.
Make sure all electrical function such radio, power windows, locks, A/C, heater, wipers, sunroof, headlights, taillights, etc are all working. Check for rusts, underneath the car. Electronics are very picky especially when the battery is out of charge.
I never had a problem with mine, although my XF has a 4 cyl gas engine. I always do a 5K miles OCI using Dexos approved engine oil. Never do a 16K mile Jaguar recommended OCI but if you do use only JLR approved engine oil
