Default Which car for purchase?

Love that black pack

Sexy...not as sexy as XF
What is on that steering wheel?

Thanks for stopping by my thread. I am trying to decide between a 2016 Jaguar XF S in ammonite gray/Black Oyster leather seats with matte gray wood and has every single option(even technology Pack!) the suede headliner and rear sunshades look great on this car as well as the blacked out 20 inch rims and black Pack. The car is $54k with 8.6k miles on it. I don’t want to spend over $50k but I know Jaguar dealers have been known to take up to 20% off of price on these XFs so I think they will be flexible. My second option is a 2016 BMW 535i with every single option except all of the safety kit, which I want. The Brown nappa leather looks gorgeous as well as the LED headlights. The BMW doesn’t look nearly as stealthy but does look sexy but not as much as the Jag does. The price of the bimmer is $42k with 17k miles. One thing that is attractive on the bimmer is the free maintenance warranty for 5 years 100k miles. I am replacing my 2007 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 in blue frost metallic with Champagne/Mocha smooth grain leather interior. I bought it new and she has 186k miles on her. I have a 2013 S-550, so I think I am going to stay in the midsized category. Thanks!

I thought 2016 and later Jaguar models also came with 5 year free scheduled maintenance?

On this forum I think you know what the strong view will be about your choice!!

If so then it’s a done deal.

Questionn: Is the 535i also AWD. Probably is. Is the Jag AWD? If not I would take the BMW. I have the 2016 Jaguar XF AWD and it is amazing in the snow and on ice plus really digs in if you hit the pedal. Very important consideration imho.

Point taken. However, some of the worst car crashes are caused by HYDROPLANING and too many drivers figure rainy roads are no problem. AWD provides a safety margin for rainy, slippery roads. Where we live it seldom snows and icy roads are infrequent but it rains like the Great Flood.
Anyway, enjoy your new car and let us know how it is behaving. Take your big CAT for regular exercises . It likes to move fast like all jaguars...

You will get the balance of the warranty with free scheduled maintenance. You can probably push them down under $50K on the price. That is one beautiful machine and love that it's murdered out.

Yes in the US but it's only good for 75K miles. Personally I think the Jag rides better, handles better, has better power characteristics, and is roomier. I also prefer the more simple interior of the Jaguar but that's personal and I'm usually in the minority on that point.

In the USA: Yes. Canada:No. I always felt, perhaps I am wrong, that the free service for 4 or 5 years is included in the price anyway. For the amount of servicing these cars need the cost isn't great.
