Choosing summer tire size
Hi everyone, I’m new here.Could you please advise if it’s possible to install 255/40 or 245/45 tires on stock 19” wheels?Right now I’m running the factory size 245/40 Dunlop. I just installed them after winter — brand new tires — and on my way home I hit two potholes within about 30 minutes and ended up blowing two tires.
Now I’m trying to understand what the issue is. Maybe Dunlop tires are just too stiff for the roads in my country, or maybe 40 profile is simply not suitable for our road conditions.
What confuses me is that I run 245/40 in winter with no problems at all, probably because winter tires have a softer compound. So now I honestly don’t know what to do.Has anyone experienced something similar or can give some advice?

What tire pressure are you using? Because I feel like I lost two tires due to the low pressure that was set for me at the tire service.
A lot of people would disagree on this but I'm using the tire pressure whatever it is written on the tire. This is how I do it, if the Tire Pressure says 50 PSI MAX (written on the tire), I'll apply 2 tick marks below and that will be 48 PSI. I've been doing this for years on all of my vehicles (past and present) and never had any issues. I get great MPG car mileage, No uneven tire wear, (well if you did, then the wheel alignment is off). Check the spare tire air pressure as well every 3 months, (you don't want to install an uninflated spare tire when you need it the most.)

48 psi… I asked them to inflate my tires to 37–38 psi, and it seems like that was a mistake that led to this result. I’ve already ordered new tires, and this time I won’t make the same mistake. It looks like my recommended pressure is around 43–44 psi.
