Jaguar have "killed" my car!!
My 2015 XF 2.2D is currently with Cardiff Jaguar having gone in for issues with fuel ecconomy. They have tried to install a software update on the engine management system and in their words 'killed" my car.
Apparantly my car jas competely shut down and nothing works. To top it all off they have told me they dont know how to fix it.
Anyone had a similar issue? If so, how was it resolved?

They should have backed up the original module settings before they started to flash the unit, that's more or less standard practice.
If they've screwed it up, it's their problem and they have to fix it.
It went in running and it'll come out running again I'm sure, but in the meantime..............COURTESY CAR PLEASE.

12-14 years ago Jeep had a recall that involved a download.....a download that, as it turned out, was corrupted. Same result: no go !
Fortunately for Jeep the recall only involved a small number of vehicles in the grand scheme of things....but, still, it was a major F.U.
Fixes are probably a lot easier nowadays
Cheers

Sorry to hear of the trouble.
It's their problem. Require a loan car of course. (If they won't provide one point out you'll hire one and charge them - as the law allows.)
The dealer (franchise - they all are) no doubt knows they can call Jaguar (who are a separate firm, not their owner) for assistance.

Back in the 90's if you tried to update/flash a computer, and something happened it, or the file was corrupt. There was a good chance they would have to replace the computer itself. Over the last 20 years things have improved with computers. To where they should be able to completely reprogram your computer. I'm not up on the Jaguar electronics, but most domestics can be reprogrammed by the Dealership. It may take some persuasion as most are kind of afraid of doing it. So to speak.
