Unhappy My Music files empty

Hello to all, I just bought a Jaguar XF (2016) 3.0d Limousine R-Sport and I have some issues, maybe someone can help me? Beers to all first!

- When I connect the mobile (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) using bluetooth or USB I can reproduce songs if I play them first from the mobile, but I don't see any list when I search using the Touch Panel, in Media/My Music, it says...No files found. They need to be located on a special folder? special format? I have all of them on .mp3 format.

- Does someone knows how to check which features has the car enabled and if it has hidden features that can be enabled form the ECU?

Thanks!

Do you have the regular system or the Pro system?

I have the Pro and I have to copy the mp3 files into the system before the Media Library source will show them. But I think the regular system is different.

Hi Jay_Davis, not sure which one I have sorry but I think is the regular one due to I didnt see the option to copy the files into the library. I found that using a normal USB Stick with mp3 files they are read and I can search and see all the files but not using a Bluetooth connection with the mobile.

With the mobile I can only reproduce them and go backward and forward and see the title on the screen but cannot search for them using the Navi or have a list of all my mp3 files. Maybe this is the normal behavior.

Another think, does someone connected any app or software to the ECU to see/read the details of the car? I have read that is possible to modify/enable some features that are hidden.

Thanks!

InControl Touch Pro has the 10 inch screen, regular ICT has four hard buttons on each side of the 8 inch screen.

Check your Owners Manual online here and you will find that you can stream over Bluetooth but you cannot browse files, that is only possible when your phone is directly connected via USB cable. The same USB socket that accepts a memory stick with all your music files, which you can browse.

You also posted a separate question about enabling hidden features etcetera. The short answer is no, and the longer answer is like all modern vehicles your XF is fitted with an OBD2 (OnBoard Diagnostics version 2) port. A variety of adaptors are available through which you can read various parameters especially engine performance and diagnostic codes. OBD2 adaptors can be wired, WiFi and Bluetooth and software exists for Windows, Android and iOS. Expect to pay money to unlock features in the better programs, and the cheapest OBD2 adapters are generally pretty poor.

GAP Diagnostic sell a specialist Bluetooth adaptor for Land Rovers (other makes are available) that they say may in the future support Jaguar cars but it is unclear what features if any can be modified. Modification of vehicle settings is not for the faint hearted and is at your own peril. Google or your preferred search engine is your friend.

Ok, clear. Then my InControl Touch is the one with buttons and 8 inches.

I realized about that but still with USB connection to the mobile is not searching any file. Maybe they need to be on any specific folder, don't know. I can stream them but not search or navigate through folders. Anyway, is not a critical issue this so I can survive

I can guess also that no Movies can be played in this version so I will neither try to do that. What is nice is to have a USB Stick connected and see the background changing from album to album

Regarding the ECU and ECM control I will wait more time to see if someone has experiences, I don't want to modify the parameters of the engine like a crazy dummy, I'm interested to see what it has configured and what can be enabled or modified at configuration level of the car (not engine), if possible of course. I mean, maybe enable Apps (even is a bad example if your car is not capable).

Thanks for your replies.

Thanks for your help.

My advice is to start with TOPIx - link https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...cle/lookupForm - where you can register for free and look up the configuration of your Jaguar by entering the VIN. The page showing vehicle features seems bare but there are two small icons to the right hand side of the left hand panel, that will give the factory configuration of the vehicle. A good starting point to double check what is factory fitted.

Jaguar InControl Apps definitely not a good example as that requires separate factory fitted hardware. More's the pity.

I appreciate that you mean features rather than engine tuning, but you are going to be disappointed.

Bluetooth streaming wasn't design to let you to browse files on the source. Your phone simply streams files. It will let you to skip files without knowing which one is the next one, but you can only choose the specific file on the phone itself. USB stick plugged in directly however acts like a storage and lets you to browse files.

So it works as designed.
