Got a 2021 XF R-Dynamic SE in August and I love driving the car around. (First Instance) Last month I pulled up to a curb to wait for someone to come out, put the car in reverse, and tried to go backward, but the car didn't go(no revving engine). Turned off the car and waited 5 minutes, restarted it, and worked with no problem. (Second Instance) Merging onto the highway trying to accelerate to merge and the car stopped accelerating, no revving engine, but I did have power to the car. Pulled over and restarted the car, but couldn't get into higher than 3rd gear. Made it home safely and let the car sit for 5 minutes. Restarted the car and had no problems. Jaguar has looked at it for a couple of days and can't find anything wrong and doesn't see any error codes. Told them to check transmission fluids, leaks, and transmission, but there are "no" problems.
Thoughts?

 

Just my uniformed opinion, so take it with a grain of salt... But I'm not sure I'd isolate this to a transmission specific issue. It sounds like the car is jumping into a limp home mode (particularly in the second instance). Surprised that didn't trigger a code. Seems electronic to me, more than mechanical.

I echo what JaguarJack12 just stated. If I were you, have another dealer take a look at it and see what they have to say.
