My immediate thought was NO as I've replaced several TB's on earlier models without any configuration being required. However, it never pays to make assumptions with a Jaguar so I checked the X260 Workshop Manual. Looks like bad news:
That being said, JLR insist a BCM must be reconfigured after a battery change and that's not strictly necessary so you could be lucky and find the TB is similarly "plug and pray" as you so delightfully phrased it.
Thanks so much for that, really very helpful. As yet I haven't proceeded with the swap as a good friend of mine came over and had a fiddle. He didn't have all the tools with him to completely remove the throttle body but did disconnect a good few things, clean them and returned them as they were. He then cleared the fault codes and voila!!!! So far no more issue, he did say it could return, in which case we can change the body, I am reluctant to do anymore, as they say "if it ain't broke etc." I do a large mileage and the Jag is my daily driver so should be no dirt issues within the system. Fingers crossed!!
The green eyed monster is rearing its head over your XK. Gorgeous car. I'd love one, but really not financially possible to import in Ireland.
Thanks again.
