Default XF X260 2.0d Loud tapping noise from Engine

Hi all,
My Jag XF X260 2.0d has been making this loud tapping (Please see attached video) knocking noise for a while now. any suggestions on what it could be?

I have had the oil and filter changed also checked the injectors with a long screwdriver and they seem to be firing and working fine. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.

Your link doesn't work. What year is the car and how many miles ? Who maintains it and do you personally check the oil level at reasonably frequent intervals ? The service interval on these cars with diesels is far too extended IMHO and an owner really needs to make sure he carries out whatever the Owner Manual recommends for regular checks.

Thank you Fraser, it is 2016 and has done just over 100k. I have had it for a year now, it was maintained by Jaguar before me. I had the service done by indi about 6 months ago and changed the oil and filter myself about a week ago.
Unfortunatly, the oil level was not checked for about 6 monghs....

The link seems to be working for me but I have attached a clip with this reply.

Thanks again.

I beleive there were issues with the timing chain and its tensioners in early engines. Is the noise coming from the rear of the engine ? Noises like this are very hard to determine with diesels as the combustion in the cylinders makes a knock as well. The old diesels were really clattery before the techies got onto it.

I think you are probably right. The noise seems to be coming from the rear of the engine as it appears a little stronger at the rear.

Hi,
Did you manage to diagnose the cause of this noise? Mine sounds similar, though not that loud. I have noticed that it is much louder when the D or R mode of the gearbox is engaged.
