Default 20" wheels on XF

Hello everybody.

My 2014 2.2d XF/X250 wears OE tyres 245/45 R18 on OE 8,5J x 18 ET49 rims.
20" omologated tyres are 255/35 R20 or 255/35 R20 (front) + 285/30 R20 (rear).

I would like to provide my vehicle with 20" wheels, and I LOVE Jaguar F-Type "Style 1025" wheels. Precisely:

- Front: rim mod. EX53-1007-EA, part. n. T2R1864, 9J x 20 ET55, for 255/35 R20 tyres
- Rear: rim mod. EX53-1007-FA, part. n. T2R1866, 10,5J x 20 ET38, for 285/30 R20 tyres

Before buying some used Jaguar F-Type "STyle 1025" wheels (which are not cheap), I asked Jaguar Italia whether these wheels are approved for my car, but they could not help me, because they only give information about tyres omologation, not on rims/wheels omologation.

I made some simulations with https://wheel-size.it/ calculator function and I found out that a 8,5J x 20 ET49 rims (with 255/35R20 tyres) would be perfect for my XF because scrub radius would not change respect to OE wheels. But with ET55 and ET38 rims I would have positive scrub radius. So I'm not sure about the rims offset.

Can anyone help me top understand if I can mount 20" F-Type "STyle 1025" (with the above-mentioned dimensions) wheels on my XF?

Thank you!

They will fit beautifully and cause no problems at all.
Stock "non XFR" XF 20" wheels are 8.5" or 9" with ET 49 all round, and stock XFR wheels are the same sizes you list above but with the rear ET a massive 66.
The F-Type rear tyres are 295/30ZR20 and not the 285/30ZR20 you quote (which are XFR stock size).
The smaller ETs and slightly wider F-Type wheels (and rear tyres) will fill out the wheel arches nicely, bringing the tyres out to just inside the edges of the arches, but with zero clearance or rubbing problems.
Go for it!

Thank you very much for your reply. Actually, you are right: F-Type stock rear tyres are 295 wide, but 285 ones are also omologated for winter/M+S.
In Italy it is not allowed to mount wheels wider than the (upper side of) wheel arch, so I must check that 36 mm wider rims still "inside" the arch

Going down in tyre width to 295 should cure your problem but no way to know for sure unless you try it which is an expensive proposition.

I don't know whether XFR tyre-compartment dimensions and hub length are the same of XF's, but your wheels (10,5 rims with 40 mm offset) are very similar to those I'm going to mount on my XF (but with 285/30R20 tyres, because bigger ones are not allowed on my car).
Would you be so kind to show us a picture of your XFR rear tyre? Thank you!

i have 20” rims .. look great however they do not have very good durability...Small (Unseen) pot holes can blister them quite easily hopefully you will be driving on better roads than i am. 19” did not give me that problem whatsoever

Just make sure the offset is somewhere near 49. I made the mistake years back of buying spares off of a F-Type and the offset of the rears wheels were 27.. which made them stick way out. The front wheels are perfect.

On the question above, XFR rear wheel offset is very different from XF. And as noted above Jag makes wheels of same name and same dimensions with different offsets so ensure you get the right one!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find Jag (or orher brand) rims similar to "Style 1025" and having offset near 49. The only "Style 1025" I found have rear offset 38. Assuming to mount them with 285/30 tyres, they would be 36 mm wider then the OE 245/45R18 wheels (precisely, rims 36 mm wider, tyres 31 mm wider)... I can't understand if this solution can be a reasonable compromise or if I'd better give up this model and choose another rim set, with offset equal or close to 49.

Offset 35 on 20” with 255/35s fit fine

i have a 2014 sportbrake and they look great. The sportbrake has air suspension so not sure of the difference that may cause.
