Curiosity has gotten the best of me so I have to ask. Why would you want to disable a safety feature?
If you must, then a piece of black tape over the camera lens should suffice.
Unfortunately I have the dreaded blue screen when the camera is activated (reverse). It does not make financial sense to buy a cable that cost 5% of the value of the whole car just to sort it out.. (It's the fibre optic part of cable thats busted - we checked all the other in the boot lid harness)
So I would prefer to just have the camera disabled.
Are you sure about that, the wiring diagram for the camera feed show a copper coax feed from the camera to the head unit, most likely is a broken wire somewhere.
On my 2011 xf, you can disconnect the camera by locating this connector (circled in red). Screen is simply black when you engage reverse, but parking sensors still work.
