2009 Jaguar XF 3.0d S lower rear control arm issue
Hi everyone, trying to replace the lower rear control on my grandsons xf and have come across an issue with the rear mounting bolt and hope someone can advise.
I unbolted everything succesfully but when I got to the rear inner mounting bolt I realised that theres no access to the nut,so I began undoing the bolt which was very tight but did come out about 5mm then theres was an bit of a screech and the bolt went loose. Now Im assuming this is a captive nut thats welded inside the subframe ,my question is ,if I sut through the bolt where it goes into the subframe is it possible to remove the nut and replace it without having to weld a new one in or cutting the subframe?
I can get my finger inside from the top but can only feel a boxed of section which I assume holds the nut, thanks in advamce for any advice.
