Hi All,
Recently bought a 2009 XF petrol 3.0 V6.
The car developed a nasty rattle after my last trip. This rattle is only audible when the car is cold, disappears after 2 minutes of idling.
I could not precisely locate the sound. Any idea of what it could be? Could this be the alternator or a belt tensioner? Does it make sense that the rattle disappears after a few minutes?

Remove your belts and start the engine for a few seconds to see if the noise changes or is gone.
Simple to do on these cars.

I didn't listen but my first guess is the SC snout clunk?
