Yes. Post the codes.

Is the oil level OK?
Is the coolant level OK?

If you have a code for coils I would inspect them on that side and report back. Sounds almost like an electrical problem on one side of the engine because 4 coils don't go out all at once.

If you don't find anything I would swap the coils from side to side and see what happens.

Are you able to DIY at all? It will be MUCH cheaper!

Don't keep running it much until you find the problem why one side of the engine isn't firing..I understand raw gas can damage the Cats.

Not only that, but you can wash the bores and cause mechanical damage to the engine.

It is probably not an injector since you have 4 cylinders misfiring. The diagrams show all four coils are fed from a common supply, so it is not a fuse. That leaves a ground or something in the ECU or wiring, or a sensor lousing up the engine management.

so there is no coolant smell from the engine bay or anywhere else? Does the coolant overflow tank have a lot of pressure in it when you remove it?

let me guess, 20 10 xf supercharged about 50-60k miles on it?
Lets hope it is "just" and injector but it sounds like a head gasket.

The heads were produced poorly from the factory, they used the gasket to take up the slack but they don't last and you get a failure which can ruin an injector and make it stay open. See if there is a lot of pressure in the coolant overflow or if you are losing coolant. Do you have to top up the coolant frequently? If not then it may just be a stuck injector. They can be gotten to fro the top of the engine so the damage shouldnt be too bad if you take it to a respectable shop, the dealership will charge you insane prices.

I had the same thing happen and it was one of the fuel injectors. The Jag dealer replaced it and it has run fine ever since.

My guys got to the injectors without pulling the blower or the engine. The spark plugs and injectors are not in the valley, they are on the outside by the headers.
Check ebay for the injectors, you need them new in package. You will also need a few weird tools and the teflon sleeve to compress the injector gaskets (they are a dry style).

Again, not buying the analysis of an injector, assuming the 4 cylinders are all misfiring as reported.

As Zap said...All four would happen at once..Still believe it is and electrical ignition or ECM issue.

One injector being stuck open can "flood" the other cylinders.
This is a very inaccurate description of what is going on but one injector can show misfires on multiple cylinders.
