Default 2012 Jaguar XF 5.0 V8 N/A Tire Size

Hello, I Currently have P245/40R19 Road Hugger branded tires on all 4s.

I honestly find these to be too small, I am wondering if it’s ok to put 265s in the front and 285s in the rear with the stock rims. I am looking for a softer ride, also for the tire to overall look thicker in the rear and come out more without using spacers, if that makes sense. Sorry if that’s confusing.

Would this make the car grip better and make the overall drive smoother? (Ex: making going over bumps less harsh)

Would doing this affect the gas mileage?

Thank you, all answers will be appreciated.

As far as the ride and grip is concerned I suggest you Google the subject, not car dependent really.

20 inch wheels will be a rougher ride than the 19's you currently have?

Jaguar offered an 18" wheel size for yours with a 245/45 tyre. This would help the ride comfort.
