2012 XF dashboard
Hi all,
new to the forums but wanted to touch base with other XF owners and techs.
so I have a 2012 XF portfolio which means my dash is garbage.
I removed the dash so I could either get it fixed or replaced.
when I removed the dash I found there is a foam pad that the dash sits on at the base of the windshield
when I checked the padding it was very wet.
I’ve noticed in the past when I first start the car and turn on the windshield vents I get condensation on the inside of windshield for a moment.
now I know why.
question is does anyone know why this padding gets wet or how to fix it?
Tks in advance.

man aint I glad to live in the Sonoran desert region now lol as the sun here would literally dry that up in a couple of hours. I've never read such things happening before, very unfortunate position to be in sorry too hear about this. hopefully someone can come and InSite some true help.
yea the same problem(not the wet dash tho)
the wrinkled and detached dash as well as the broken center speaker grill
what a buncha junky crap for an expensive luxury car
I wish there was a shop in the San Antonio TX area to do this kind of repair because the dealership wanted like 5K+ to fix it ...

ANohter thing to check is the sunroof... look to see if the wet seems to be startgin around the base of the a pillars. If so the sunroof nuts may need to be tightened (common problem) You can get to it with out removing the headliner, jsut pulling it down around the frame
Another possibility for the moisture and the damage to the dash cover? has the windshield been replaced at some point? If so, there is your likely suspect - an improperly seal windshield.
