Default 2014 Jaguar XF 3.0L Supercharged - Not starting

I have 2014 XF that won't start, I'm getting Engine Control Unit #1 U0402(00) and U0426(00) codes.

U0426(00)
Raw code: C42600
ECU: Engine control unit
Status: Test failed, Test failed (current drive cycle), Pending, Test failed since last DTC clear
OBDII: Invalid data received - immobilizer control module

U0001(87)
Raw code: C00187
ECU: Engine control unit
Status: Pending, Test failed since the last DTC clear
OBDII: Controller area network (CAN) data bus, high-speed bus

U0402
Invalid data received transmission control module(TCM)

The car was running OK until it rained hard and while driving I got the message "Smart Key Not recognized", took it to the dealer looked at it, and said BCM (passenger footwell) needs to be replaced and wants $$$$. The dealer thinks water ingress may have happened and corroded BCM. The car only has 47K miles. The battery in the car was replaced in Dec 2022 so it's new.

Put a hair dryer on it for a couple of hours and see if it comes back to life?

Having the same issue....

for me found water in the back fuse box. Have to get the car towed to get it figured out... told over the phone it'll likely need to be replaced and being asked 5k for the back juction box.... because it can't be bought without the main harness. Beyond ridiculous.

I have come to realize there can't be many cars with crappier design/engineering. Had enough of it... getting rid of mine the day it starts... if it does for that matter.

I was also quoted $5.5K by dealer to replace BCM with no guarantee that it will fix the problem. Dealer thinks the problem I'm having could be caused by any of the 3 modules and it makes sense to start with BCM. I'm just thinking of selling the car to junkyard or anyone else who wants to buy and fix it. Engine, transmission, AC all are in good shape.

Do you have a copy of the TSB on this?
Might be useful?

Much cheaper if you can do the work yourself too?

The flooding damage occurred before I bought the car. I'm the 3rd owner and have had this for 2.5 yrs, put 10K miles since purchase. So its hard to say if previous flood damage is contributing to the issue I'm having now. And seeing some other posts with folks having similar issues without the flood damage makes me think this has more to do with Jaguar engineering & design then anything else.

Well my (limited) experience with flood cars is this: You can never be sure the flood damage is gone or has been repaired. It's a cancer and keeps growing until you see the additional symptoms.
Also if it was flooded with salt or brackish water that's an even higher level of damage.

Do you know how far the water came up in the car?

So I bought a used BCM from Ebay (2013 XF) with same part number. Have seen couple of Ebay posts from UK sellers about 1/BCM Repair and 2/BCM Clone ? What would experts recommend here. My dilemma is if my BCM is corroded (as per Dealer) then cloning would not help. Not sure how BCM repair works for a corroded BCM (if that indeed is the case). Thought will throw few hundred dollars in my last attempt if this gets car started. Else will send it to junkyard.

Fit the used part, get it configured to the car and see what happens.

Kansasbrit - Thank you !

My challenge is finding a qualified guy who will do it. Dealer said I cannot use used BCM, so he wont do it. And independent mechanic said in his experience used BCM has not worked. But I will ask him again and see if he wants to give it a try.

Hence, I was checking Ebay and found couple of listings about BCM Repair and clone but from your advise does'nt look like either one of those would work in my situation.
