My first post here so hello to everyone.

I have a 2014 XFR with 40k on the clock.

Just a quickie regarding the alarm system. When the alarm sounds just a siren goes off. The horns DO NOT sound with the siren. Is this normal? My previous 2008 XF and an XE I had both a siren and the horns sounded when the alarm was activated.

Thoughts very welcome anyone

No clue, but didn't want your question to go unnoticed, so thought I'd bump it.

 

It may've been coded out at some point in it's life. It can be coded back in by someone who knows what they're doing.

 

Any chance you have an aftermarket alarm?
I ask because on my 2014 XJR it's only honking the horn and no siren at all?

That's because in the US, they don't really have the full alarm system on their Jaguars. They don't have the internal motion sensors, level sensors or a battery backed sounder. They don't even have steering column locks.

I've always wondered why that is. I mean, for a country that has such high car theft rates it's pretty....alarming (sorry, I had to do it).
