2015 Jaguar XF Wont Start After Dead Battery Replaced
The original battery in my 2015 Jaguar XF died last week. A new battery was put in and it would not crank. The panel comes up and it gives a signal to press the brake and emergency brake which we did several times and nothing. We tried to go back in with the old battery and charge it. Still would not crank. Do you thinking registering the replacement battery with an OBD tool will work or are we just totally off base? Any thoughts about what could be going on?
Hello, terrible way to start the morning but did you check if the battery was fully charged the 12.6v it requires that and sometimes more. Also check your fuse panel some people have blown fuses someone stated in a different forum " It was one of the big fuses which is related with the solenoid , starter motor etc in the engine compartment fuse box." hopefully this helps or youve been helped. Make sure to comeback in this post and post your Solution. Best of luck mate!
If it's telling you to press the brake pedal to start it's not that the battery is low. It means it's not sending the brake pedal switch which is required for a start
The brake system has a vacuum assist so you don't have to press the pedal hard. When you turn off the car there is still some vacuum so when you come to start it it will still assist. If you press the brake pedal 5-6 times with the car off there is no brake boost left. So you really need to stamp on the brake pedal hard to start the car. Try again but stamping v hard and see if that works.
