Default 2015 XF Between 2 colors

I am looking to purchase a new 2015 XF and can't decide between the Lunar Grey and the Metallic Silver. Can anyone with Jaguar's XF in these colors please post pictures of their vehicles?

I think it depends where you actually live. I'm in Norcal with a 2010 Jag with Liquid Silver and Fusion with Lunar Gray. I prefer the silver with lots of sunshine these stands out more. If you live on the east coast well style is different there so you might want to be more conservative :-)

New in lunar. Even better. (Black pack is stunning on lunar!) I see silver XF's far more often. It's a dealer safe color.

I have the lunar grey and the polaris white. Both look good, but the white looks more regal to me. The lunar grey makes the car look, how should I say it delicately, a little less special.

I had liquid silver and then black, now I have liquid silver again in the XKR. IMHO the silver shows the curves off just right, though black looked awesome when it was just washed. Lunar grey is nice and I'd be happy with it, but there was a reason why liquid silver was the hero colour...

Really? IMO I think, unless it has the black pack, white is the single most boring color for the XF. Actually for any car. Almost every city or town I've ever lived in had white cars for the city utility vehicles. And I was given a white new loaner XF when my car was being reprogrammed and it seemed invisible. Couldn't wait to get back in my XF.
Different strokes I guess.

Agree with Philhef, white needs black pack and/or lots of carbon accents to look good. My friend has a white XF SC and it looks pretty subtle.

Also agree with Bruce that the mid tone colors really show off the lines of the car. IMHO, black and white just seem to hide the beauty.

I think it all depends on the car, I personally think the F-Type looks best in white, and without black wheels(hate those). I'm honestly surprised Jaguar doesn't have a pearly white color. But I agree lighter to mid shades show the lines much better, black is pretty and all but hides a lot of the details.

I have a 2012 XF in Polaris White. The online car configurator for the new XE shows a new Glacier White Metallic! That will look awesome.
Hopefully, it will be available on the XF soon.

Yea, really. I just took a client out in my lunar grey and it wasn't until we came back and he realized it was a Jag, and not something normal. And he's from the UK.

That would never happen in the white one. Both cars have the 19" chrome Artura wheels. That dresses them up a lot, especially on the white one.

I saw one of the big Rolls hurdling down the freeway the other day in white. It didn't look like a city utility vehicle. Neither did the white Esprit that James Bond drove into the ocean.

On the James Bond theme, when you saw the DBS in Casino Royale, did you fail to notice it's pedigree because it was charcoal? Did the DB5 ever look ordinary in silver? I would venture to say no.

Just because the Phantom and Esprit stood out in white, I would argue you would have to paint either one of those a hideous/ridiculous color to not have them look both distinctive and draw attention.

Certain designs have it, certain cars need particular colors to bring it out of them.

strangely enough I reckon both the XF and the XK look awesome in red with the black pack. and I usually don't like red cars. And while everyone else seems to think f-types look great in white, I think it looks stubby and fat - whereas black shows it off really well (contrast however against the XK which I don't think looks that great in black).

But ultimately I'd be happy to drive any of them, in any colour (including black or white, if we are going to get technical).

Sorry Bellanca_XF, I just realised I said pretty much the opposite of you! Not picking a fight!

Exactly. Did you fail to notice that you are agreeing with me. The XF looks great in white. White cars do not automatically equal city utility vehicles. It looks pretty bland in lunar grey. I actually like that it's more low key because I don't need clients hating me for driving a Jag. The white just pops and gets that kind of attention.

You can argue with me all day long, but since I own both, I see the reactions first hand, so it's not going to get you anywhere. So go take it up with the other guy.

I made it very clear in my post that "in my opinion" I think white is the single most boring color for...... Actually I think it's bland on every car. Metallic whites are at least somewhat better In My Opinion! Trim options and such can improve the look In My Opinion.
I have several dealers in my family and circle of friends. Every single one says the three colors they order most for stock are WHITE, BLACK and SILVER!!!! This is because they are the safest colors to move because most people don't take chances and try anything else. The fourth color would be red. It is the color most people relate "sports car" too. My jaguar dealer says they usually do the same stock colors for the lot but the very first cars to sell are the Vapor and Lunar gray, then stratus gray, and oddly enough, caviar. H said hardest color to sell is the British racing green.
I also said I, me personally, don't mind wite with black pack, black wheels, something to make it stand out in a sea of white cars.
I will agree that the F-type looks good in white. But it's going to stand out in any color.
Maybe I'm just used to my Lunar gray with black pack literally turning heads every time I drive it. Maybe it's the black leaper on the bonnet, I don't know. But I had a brand new white XF for 24 hours while mine was being serviced and no one even paid attention to it. I'm sure some did but I felt invisible. My friend that went with me to dealers to drop off car even made a comment.

My '12 XF has the Sport Package, so the gloss black grill provides some contrast against the white. To give a bit more personality, I've installed a OEM gloss black rear XFR diffuser, plus red wheel center caps and a red growler grill badge that really pops against the black grill. I'm very pleased.

To your point about white, black and silver, my Kyanite Blue XFR sat at the lot in Newport Beach for 5 months before someone that had enough vision to see it's value (me of course) bought it for a ridiculous price (thank you to those who passed on it). I had a long conversation with the sales guy there about why it was still there and he said the same thing philhef's dealer said. People who buy Jags typically buy the "safe" colors, which leaves Kyanite and BRG as the two hardest to sell. Seems funny to me because if you look here on the forum, people make positive comments about photos of either. But there are very few of them as well, so it backs up the thought that people don't take chances on their vehicle color choices.

And Lotusespritse, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Just having a spirited forum debate.

Car sale rep is not going to tell you something that might make you feel bad about buying a car from him/her. So don't believe him/her (ever).

But I can tell you my opinion with no horse in the race. While that bright blue is a rather effeminate color, it's lovingly painted onto a car that is spec'd out for a dude. Not many of the ladies want that front bumper and the big supercharged engine with rougher riding suspension. That's why it took months to find that special "fella" that liked color and is frugal with his money, so he was attracted to the discounted-to-the-bone pricing.
