3.0l XF will not switch off, pulled fuses and disconnected battery. Still going.
Hi all, I have my XF that has had "Engine Systems Fault" showing and having inconsistent faults including not being able to start.
Whilst diagnosing it started, but the start/stop switch now wont stop the car. I have pulled fuses that seemed to be ignition system and also disconnected battery.
Car is still going, it is basically possessed, but I really need to shut it off as it's looking like at the moment sitting there until it runs out of diesel.

Yikes. Well, YIKES!
Not a specialist on these cars but looking at fuses I'd pull the fuel pump fuse F25 from the trunk/boot fuse panel. Disable the fuel pump it won't run. What that does for restart I am not 100% sure. On other diesel vehicles I am familiar with it just starts up and goes once the fuel pressure in the system is restored.
Need the F41-F43 fuses in place for troubleshooting.
How your car ran with the battery disconnected is curious. Something to do with the battery maintenance system I suppose.
Please describe any other factors that might be in play.

Yikes is good response
So at the moment it is just sat with battery disconnected waiting until Jaguar have a slot available. So it'll probably just sit there until mid June. It's really tragic how only Jaguar garages can assess and fix this but they have no availability. I was initially offered August but after calling 4 garages managed to find a cancellation.
Anyway, so the fault seems to be this. Sometimes the car starts and runs without issues, sometimes it starts and runs with message "Engine Systems Fault".
Sometimes from these statuses, the car may fail to turn off.
Sometimes the car will unlock, but seems to not recognise the key is in the car so it just stays on the Jaguar screensaver.
I put the key in the physical slot, it is now locked in place there. Battery is removed. Not sure what else to do.

With out reading the codes you have no way to fix your car?
Can you DIY any of this?
You mention Diesel but not where your at? All the details are needed as it helps people identify what's going on?
