Default 8.0" Wide Wheels

I'm downsizing from my 20" Hydras to an aftermarket 18" set for comfort. I'm considering 4 styles right now with varying width options. Some are 8.0, 8.5, or 9.0 depending on which style and all are in the +38-40 offset range which should be fine. Has anyone run 8.0" wide wheels on their XF? If so, how were handling and tire wear affected? This is for my 2013 3.0L AWD.

Just subscribing to the thread. I too intend to ditch the 19" Caravelas to put some more sidewall between me and the asphalt coated cattle trails that Fort Worth city leaders have the audacity to call "streets".

I know what you mean. I lived in Ft. Worth for 6 months and go there often for work. It is the best highway system I've ever seen but they don't repair the old roads, they just build new ones a couple stories above.

Changing my question now... is anyone running 245/45/19? I'm now thinking of going with 19's but with a sidewall as large as an 18" wheel would have. It would put my speedo off by 2.5% which seems livable to me. On the highway that's 2 mph above indicated speed. The wheels I'm looking at are 19x8.5 +32 so I need to take some measurements that the wider stance and taller tire will be alright. Anyone riding on something similar?

I ride XF SC stock volans R20 245/40 and 275/35which would be like yours r19/45

i get some rub in front when wheel is turned to maximum angle. I need extenders to prevent that or ET45 or less (Volans et49) I also think my adaptive crusie control radars now recogizes only truck(car stands higher)

I am running 275's in the back on 9" wheel...you should be fine. My stance changed and the wheels/tires are about a half inch out from the fender lip, but I like that look.

What did you decide for your wheels? I'm downsizing now and was thinking of putting 18's

I'm going to run 19" wheels with 245/45-19 tires so I will have the same sidewall as an 18" stock tire. I will post on how it goes. I may need to modify the back of the front wheel fenders to prevent rubbing. It was difficult to find a 19" wheel I liked that would fit, 18" would be near impossible without going OEM.

How did that setup work? Everything going good? any rubbing? I picked up some 19's today and im going to purchase some tires tomorrow. I was gonna go 245/40/19 but if i can go 245/45/19 with no issues i would prefer the extra tire.
