I like the lighted badge, but it may actually be illegal. I don't think you are supposed to have any red lights on the front on your car, so don't be surprised if the popo pulls you over if you drive around with it on. Hopefully you have a cabin switch to turn it off.

The LEDs look like the cheap add on that the Honda and Kia boys would cram around their existing head lights, so they don't look Jaguar class to me.

Yea, you're screwed:

That would be such a minor infraction. I don't think that you would get anything more than a verbal warning. There are much better things to get cited for. Anyways, to each his own. What one man thinks is crap maybe beautiful to another.

Good to know you are proud of being part of the corrupt state that is NY and you are above the law unlike us lowly citizens. Say hi to the Governor for us from the little people.

Boy this is getting way off topic.....the poor guy was just showing us his creativity and some of us shoot him down in flames....I am not sure that I like that. Sorry but that is my opinion. I know that the NY state issue is a sore spot to some. But I don't think that it is appropriate in this thread.

I must say that I want the lighted Jag on the front. I never thought much of a lighted badge until I bought a Mercedes with the lighted star on the front. Just this weekend we installed a lighted 'T' on our Tesla and it looks great. What did they do to light the Jag? ... I would love to mod if it's a "do it yourself."

Yeah I think Mercedes started it!
I purchased a Red badge from SNG Barrett for about 35$ and a Forum member here in NY added the LED strip around the interior after pulled apart, put back together with wiring and had my shop add to the parking lights....definitely a do it yourself... sounds like your handy.

Good Luck.

I already have the red badge as my XF is a 2014 and I don't really have any gap around it. From what I gather the badge has a solid back and is held on by 3M tape. So would I have to drill it out and buy and small led to put in it?

Yes the badges are held on by 3m tape to the surface of the grill...but they easily come apart...then the led strip is placed around the badges interior and put back together and circled in black electric tape... ... Was done for me so I didn't create. ...hope that helps

A guy Franck on our forum created mine. I'll reach out to him have him explain the process on the forum.

Hey, don't let these guys get you. They think our cars are sacrosanct and shouldn't be modified at all.
Like the badge and I did a similar thing to mine, but just had it light behind it. So a soft glow. Also used white led just for the legal issue.
Used red for my rear badge I made
Keep customizing brother!! Life would be sooooooo boring if we left our cars totally factory!!!
