Airbag light on
Hey guys so I drive my car very infrequently right now, at about once every week or so. The last few times I have driven it the Airbag warning light came on after some time driving it. When I restart the vehicle it is off. I work at a dealer and had them put a code reader on it and it had no stored codes from it being on and the light did not come on during the time it was in the shop. If I make several runs in it during the day it may not come on at all. Normally airbag codes are hard set to keep the light on so, I think it may be voltage related. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Yes. Very likely the battery starting to fail. I had similar on my LR and it was the battery not the airbag. Test it - and if it's more than a few years old I'd just replace and avoid the headaches
It seems your car is a 2013 model which would make the original battery 5+ years old now.
XFs often start to have battery problems once the OEM battery gets to 4 years old, so if I were you I would fit a new battery pronto before you start to get a lot more low battery related problems.
