With keyfob in hand, open any door and alarm sounds. If press the unlock button then open door, there is no alarm. This nonsense just started today, prior there was no alarm as long as keyfob was closeby My first thought is fob battery but anyone have insight to this?

I thought that was “normal” as that’s what my 2010XF has always done.
It seems that it times out and after a period of time, even though the car is still unlocked, the alarm sounds when I open any door whether I have key fob in hand or not.

 

This is happening with doors (vehicle) locked. Used to be as long as you had keyfob, you could open any door with locked vehicle, now it sounds alarm unless you first press the unlock button on the fob. Only happens with one of the fobs though, the other is ok which makes me think maybe the fob battery needs to be changed.
