So I am wanting to gather up the various bits that will inevitably fail and I thought I would start with the alternator and water pump....eBay seems the best source for this stuff at much better prices than bying from the dealer but I noticed that there are Denso alternators that supposedly fit my 2015 XF V6 Supercharged AWD that are 12 volt and also 14 volt called out on the labels.....Which do I buy? I've read threads on here where folks have pulled them and the few pictures show them as 12 volt .....I'm so confused!
Should be the same. It's nominally 12V for a 12V car system. But in reality alternators put out about 14.5V. Same way a 12V car battery is closer to 13v
So I expect they are the same. But perhaps someone else on here can clarify?

Just replaced mine, check the part #. Any part supply store should be able to get it. The only things Jaguar specific is the word Jaguar.
Cost <1/2 of dealer cost

Thanks very much for that, both of you, I've sourced the alternator as well as the proper last version waterpump and the belts. With all the supply chain problems I just feel better gathering up the various parts that I will at some point need to change out to keep my kitty running.I grew up working on Jaguars with my Dad way back in the 1960's and preventative maintenance was the order of the day.Keeping a close eye on things has served me well with this current Jaguar.Better to catch trouble before it gets messy.
