yes is possible.....but after some more research i ve found out that are different amps on them.my original has 150 and the other one what i bought has 120...soo for that is the light on.was verry difficult to find out this because all alternators are shown like having same amps.even i bought the other alternator from an almost the same car(manual 3 l v6)
hope i m right and this info will help other jags owners

I was recently doing a "pre-need" Google search for Denso Alternator Parts and found a supplier in the US. I don't remember the name of the site, but they showed pictures of all the various diode bridges for Denso alternators so you could pick out the one you need. Hope this helps a little. Carl

update regarding my issue with alternator.i wasn t able to fix the alternator what was on my car,so i looked after another one(second) and now is ok.my new (used)alternator is recharging my battery with 14 15 amps.so,if u are looking in buying a new alternator the best thing what u can do is to take off your alternator, check what serial has and buy another alternator with an identical serial.before ,because the diode drigde was distroyed, the alternator was recharging only 13 amps.
hope my info will help somebody.cheers

I do not fully understand what you are writing above, but it is also a good idea to remove the alternator from the vehicle and have it serviced by a local automotive electrical service centre. Bearings, diodes and other items can be replaced or tested and the unit reinstalled in the vehicle usually within a few hours.

a common fault in alternator will be diode bridge(rectifier bridge).that was my the fault with my alternator.after i bought a wrong alternator,i bought another one with the same serial like the oem alternator
and now alternator is recharging battery,no more battery light in dashbord.this i ve done myself, maybe half hour working and much cheaper then changing bearings and diodes.
