So I recently installed ambient lights in the rear air vents. The final phase will be running a loom through the body of the car into the rear doors to provide ambient lighting for the rear doors to match the front doors (concealed behind the wood trim). I couldn't use the light from the window switch because it operates from a door control module which only supplies 0.01v to the light in the window switch. The EL lighting needs 12v to convert properly to AC so it was a no-go.
