Which battery charger for mongoose programing
Hi all
Been looking for a battery charger to maintain the battery on my 2010 xf while I mess around plugging my laptop into it.
I am looking at a couple of chargers which have a float mode so will only charge when it's needed but not sure how many amps in a charger do I need.
The ones I am looking at are Ring 25A 25 amp 12V Professional Smart Charge Pro Smart Battery Charger RSCPR25 | eBay and Ring Automotive 50A 12V Professional SmartChargePro Smart Battery Charger RSCPR5 | eBay
Any help would be great

Curious, what can you actually do with Mongoose? Do you have the one from Drew Technologies?
Their website, and even their manual is completely useless:
http://www.drewtech.com/downloads/Mo...ser_Manual.pdf
They don't tell you what you can do or not do with their $600 tool plus expensive add-ons.
Can you reprogram a key? Can you diagnose an airbag light? Can turn off the often unreliable tire pressure monitors? Etc?

That's because they only produce the hardware.
The software is issued by Jaguar, therefore the information
is in the Jaguar IDS/SDS publications.
Many of the publications are included as attachments in the
mother of all JLR Mongoose threads on this site.

There are also the Chinese knock offs which the Land Rover bods call the "Mangoose" and probably shouldn't be relied upon for programming or reflashing. Ditto with the versions of SDD that come with the clones that are hacked to avoid verification with JLR servers.
As to battery maintainer, I believe CTEK make a number of units that have good reviews from the Land Rover and Jaguar forums in the UK. I forget which model I have, but I'm told battery chargers should be avoided because they spike the voltage and you don't want to do that during a flash.
Be aware that "while I mess around plugging my laptop into it" may have unfortunate consequences if you **** off the Big Cat....
