Default Battery dead or key fob? Please help

Battery or key fob? Okay so I went to use the car with the key fob and it didn't work so the key fob did not unlock the car and the lights did not flicker I opened the key fob and I accidentally broke off the little metal piece from the motherboard that holds the battery in place so now the battery and the key fob were broken anyway so I noticed when I opened the car door the lights don't even go on in the interior and I have no power trunk or nothing so I'm confused I don't know if the battery is also dead maybe the battery was dead to begin with and that's why the key fob wasn't working I'm not really sure but this all happened in one day everything was perfect the day before so maybe somebody can give me some insight on how to test the battery and if I can't open the trunk how do I get into it I don't know what's going on any information would be great

Sounds like a dead car battery, so once you get access to the trunk using the emergency key in your FOB I suggest to check and replace the car battery.

Default Was a battery after all

Thanks for the reply to my thread about the battery but it was the battery because it's been sitting for a week and I guess it got drained I have the car for only a year-and-a-half the battery looks pretty brand new but I guess it was not and maybe sitting for a week and a half it's probably not good for it I didn't realize it but I'm getting a new battery from Champion today I hope they last longer if I let it sit

A week should be no problem for a battery.
There are usually dates stamped on the battery, that should give you an idea how old it is.

Chris

BTW, please check your keyboard, looks like . and , ain't working
