Default Battery low warning

have a 2012 jaguar xf. It started up for me. I pulled out of the garage but when I went back to turn it on it wouldn't start up. It says low battery. It's been on the cables for 30+ minutes. This is the second time in 1 week that it has done this. The battery is only a little over a year old. I only drive it like 2-3 times a month. What can it be?

Default Trickle Charger.

You need to get a trickle charger for the battery.
If you only drive it a few times a month, you’re not driving it enough to keep the battery in a healthy charged state.

Also if you are charging your battery up from empty disconnect it, my XF battery doesn't charge properly from low or empty whilst connected, neither does my P38 Range rover so assume most JLR vehicles are the same, the charger works fine on my other vehicles when still connected.
