BMS Issue?
Hi Everybody
New member with very little mechanical knowledge looking for some much needed help.
I have a 2015 XF 2.2L Diesel which has had an intermittent 'Battery not charging' message popping up for a while. I have had the car in to my local garage and he has checked both the batteries (which are both less than 18 months old) and the alternator and said these are fine and is unsure why the message pops up now and then.
The car has no issues starting and the battery supplier (Halfords) has tested it too and said it is fully charged and healthy. over the last few months the 'Battery not charging' message has popped up intermittently and gone after I had re-started the engine with the Eco-stop working as expected and can go a few days without any issues then up it pops again. I have noticed that this message is appearing more frequently now the weather is cold and I really want to get this fixed. I have trawled the web and found a lot of forum posts that suggest the BMS module may be at fault or may need resetting?
Does anybody have any suggestions or experience of this?
