Hi im thinking about buying a 2013 XF2.0T. its beautiful and cheap! The problem seems to be that it wont run after having the battery replaced. It has been diagnosed by ?? as having a bad body control module and needing a replacement. I have SDD v131 and have been able to program keys on an 03 S type but dont think its going to be able to talk to the 2013 car. anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated before i bite the bullet and buy this very nice car for almost no money.... oh, and there is no dealer within 250 miles of here.

I've been getting many requests from the group via word of mouth and I've done quite a few.

Issue one most common:

Car won't lock after battery disconnect. This is solved via immobilisation in SDD.

Issue two less common:

Key not recognised at all hence no ignition, immobilisation not possible.

This is done via cluster reprogram as it will bypass the key sequence, turns ignition itself and do the immobilisation at the end.

This will also update cluster to latest software, bonus.

Please don't throw suitcases of money on KVM module/keys and what not, I've never seen a faulty KVM module.

 

thanks, not sure what KVM is but i am not the type to throw money at a problem. which version of SDD would i need? currently i have 131 which i have used succesfully on my 2000 xj8, 2001 XJR and 2003 S type. i havent bought the 2013 car (yet) but i suspect that if i do i may need another virtual machine and differfent software as the date on my current windows XP virtual machine is set at nov 2012.

 

Not sure what version of sdd you will need, I don't have it?
