Had to replace the rear on our XF at 15,000 miles. Exactly what Brutal said he has been seeing.

And I total agree with what Brutal said about rear biased braking squating the rear end. We race four wheelers and this is a known fact. You want to squat the rear end going into a corner or certain jumps hit the back brake. Those of you with motorcycles can do the same thing. As you stop at a light let off the front brake right before you come to a complete stop and press the rear a little harder and you will feel the rear end sink down.

This thread is very timely. My 2010 XF has the light going on intermittently, but the car has about 13.5k miles, brake pads or "the wire"? I'll take it to the dealer and we'll see. How many hours do they allow for replacing the pads, etc?

Default Brake pad wear sensors

Hi, I've just traded my 2008 Jaguar XF which to my cost hadnt any brake wear sensors fitting in manufacture resulting in having to replace the rear discs on 2 occasions in the 4 years I had it.
I now own a 2009 Jaguar XK Coupe and would like to know if the same applies to this.
