Don't want to break the law since the State says no more than 70% tint all the way around. My tint guy says how about 30-35% for front side windows and 15% for back windows (not rear one). I really want to tint but ???? The car is a 09 FXSC that is Vapour Grey and charcoal interior.

 

Do 20% all around and you will be fine. Nobody is going to give you problems if your driving style doesn't get too much attention.

 

You're risking a fix-it-ticket with that dark on the front side winders. The back is pretty much want you want.
Looooong ago, I had the front sides done and some rookie cop nailed me. Had to take it off.

 

I had 30% all around on my 2010 XF and never had a problem. I just got an 2012 and went with the same tint. I don't expect a problem. I never had a front plate either and that only got me one fix it ticket that I got with a parking violation. Also, I paid the ticket via mail and never fixed the front plate and I was never required to bring the XF in for an inspection. Go figure.
