Could try popping the map disc out and checking to see if it covers your region. The drive for it is in the left top side of the trunk under the popout. If it is, maybe doing that will be enough to make it check again.
There's a hidden menu in the nav system that you can get to by going into the map and holding your finger in the top middle of the screen for a while until it pops up a number pad. From there, there are a few different things you can type in to get into the guts. I'll see if I can find what the codes are and report back.

The discs are east and west USA so if you were in DC previously and now FL it should be the same disc

At the start of the search on the Nav you can click to set the search area. My guess is you are currently set on DC area. You should be able to click and choose FL instead. I forget exactly where but you should be able to find it if you look around a bit

When I got mine it was set to California. I just went into the nav and reset it to WA. Took a little poking around for a few minutes but not too hard to figure out.

The nav in the XF is one of the hardest I've ever had to use. I always use my phone instead now....
