The next generation of hybrid drives will also be fitted to all IC powered passenger cars built for Europe and all with have stop/start and you won't even notice.

Mine never fails to operate as specified and never causes any difficulties whatsoever. Complaints of failure I have seen arise from a failure to understand how it works and how it is supposed to work. It is a flawless system and very clever.
I am glad you like it, because you can keep it. My wife and I hit the button to turn it off as soon as the car starts. Only thing about the car I don't like.

MV, why don't you just disconnect the stop/start battery in the trunk as noted in post 5? Takes all of 5 minutes tops, and you'll never have to hit the button again (not to mention is completely reversible).

I agree, but it is the wife's car and she told me not to do it when I talked to her about it.

Daniel i've moved your post to the XE ( X760 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section.

For anyone else, YES the stop/start can be disable, NO a dealer cannot do it for you, but it is very possible, even for cars that do not have the 2nd battery.

That is the only way I know how to defeat the system with out having to push the button every time you start the car.

I joined this site mainly to complain about the auto stop/start feature in my '16 XF. lol

IMO, this feature should default to Off when in Dynamic mode (with ability to switch On with the button); it should default to On (with ability to switch Off with the button); is should default to On (without the option to switch Offf) when in Eco mode.

I test drove an F-Type last week with that auto-stop/start device. I wanted to reconfigure it with a hammer....

Very first thing I did to my F-Type when I got it home was to disable the stop/start, 'orrible thing that it is. Dead easy on my MY2015, just disconnect the positive lead from the second/small battery, but apparently not so easy on the later models with just one battery.

stop/start may seem like a stupid thing to most people. but its helping Jaguar in their personal ways (gas guzzler tax, CAFE emission ratings, etc)....therefore, if its good for the goose, its good for the gander.

what we SHOULD be focusing on is being mad at Jaguar for not giving us the option to disable it completely. Its our cars, we paid for them, we should choose whether or not to use them.

I love my 2012 5.0L, and politics aside, I have made it my goal to **** off at least one tree hugger a day. So far I'm 254 years ahead of schedule.
