Care of leather dash
A detailer takes care of my upholstery, but doesn't put anything on the leather dash and door caps. I have used Meguiar's a couple of times, but I wonder of that's worth doing. Do you folks do anything to maintain these parts?
I condition them pretty often, the dash more often than doors & seats though. I live in PHX so I even tinted my whole windshield with 55% to help the sun beating on it. Meguiar's is good or Mothers is good as well.
My car is garaged but when I take it out I always put the OEM sun shade in the windshield to keep the direct heat off of it. I also clean and condition it regularly with either Lexol or Pinnacle products. I prefer the pinnacle cleaner and the Lexol conditioner but you can't go wrong with either from both company. All seats get the same treatment as well.
I use the same stuff...no problems....I use my bare hand to work in the Lexol on the seats..then a light buffing with a micro-fiber rag after it has a chance to dry.
Thanks for the recommendations. My records show that I haven't done the dash/doors since last August, altho it's garaged and only driven 4000 miles since then. I have a couple of week-long trips in July and August, so will do it before I leave. (Meguiar's "gold class rich leather cleaner/conditioner")
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
