Default Check Engine light 09 Jaguar XF Supercharged

Weird things happening with my XF. Check Engine light comes on then goes off within hours. Bought the car in to the dealership. Dealer could not find any problems. No codes. Has anyone else had this issue? Please advise. Thanks in advance

Most all "critical" codes will remain in memory till cleared, so I would assume this to be a lesser CEL error that clears itself when you shut the car off (educated guess). Maybe low oil, overtemp or some such thing?

Next time the light comes on, see if a code can be read before you power down. Many auto parts stores can read codes for you for free.

You'd have four O2 sensors. Two for each converter. Your car has a left and right hand converter. See the following..... 2009 JAGUAR XF Parts - Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com

They put one sensor in front of a given converter and one at the exhaust of each converter. Then the ECU compares the reading of the one in front of the converter to the one at the rear of the converter and determines if the converter is doing its job...or not.

Gas cap tight?

On my 09 normally aspirated I had a repeating CEL fault which Jaguar eventually fixed with a software update. Make sure your dealer has flashed your car with the latest available update.
