Default Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit Performance/Stuck Off

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 2009 XF Supercharged. While I was driving it 8 hours home, a Check Engine light, and restricted performance message kept coming up and going away. I pulled the codes when I got home and It is P2601 Coolant Pump "A" Control Circuit Performance/Stuck Off. The guy I bought it from said a pump had been recently replaced, but didn't specify which. The check engine light will go away on it's own, and then return later own, but not immediate. sometimes a few days, and only after I have been driving it a bit. I'm not sure how to proceed.

Yep, your intercooler pump is gone bye bye. The Bosch 010 pump is a lower cost upgrade that is used by Mercedes Benz on both super charged and turbo boosted 4, 6, 8 & 12 cylinder applications. If you're willing to make a few mods to adapt it for Jag use. My write up is under "Charge pump Upgrade".
Your 09 if it's the 4.2 has 2 electric water pumps, the larger and lowest mounted of the 2 mounted on the front of the radiator is the ic pump. the otherone is for the heater.

Did the improved I/C pump add anything?
I have seen mention of this and it's great that it's cheaper but have not heard any gains?
