Default Corroded coolant piping

Took the car in for brakes and to have a bunch of coolant hoses replaced. The hoses were all leaking from around the clamps enough for the orange agent in the fluid to leave a build-up that looked like stalagmites you would see in a cave.

As it always goes, once the mechs started the work, they found more stuff wrong.

The service rep sent me these photos of the thermostat, & thermostat housing:

Two week wait for the parts to get here from the UK...

I assume that this vehicle is being operated in a severe heat environment. It appears that the anti-corrosion coolant may have degraded. Has the coolant ever been flushed and replaced as required for severe environments? Has mineralized water been used for replenishment purposes? It may pay to use distilled water during initial coolant filling or when restoring the coolant level.

Are you sure they are not just replacing parts?

All Aluminum in contact with hot coolant looks like that. I don't see anything that needs replaced.

Have they replaced the hoses and clamped them down and checked for leaks?

If they want to change them now why won't they want to change them again next year? How can Jaguar and all other car makers use Aluminum that corrodes when in contact with the engine coolant?
