Default Cracked intake Tube/hose.

So I discovered the source of my rough idle. I have a 2010 XF Supercharged. The cold air intake tube/hose is cracked/split right where it seats to the engine manifold. Should I replace it w an OEM tube, or just go for the aluminum/ custom tube by Mina Performance? The OEM seems to cost just as much as the Mina, and I would rather have aluminum than a cheap plastic tube. Thanks.

I replaced mine with the Mina tubes about two weeks ago. Very happy with it and it should last much longer than the OEM. I have the NA 5.0L so if there is any HP gain it is not noticeable, However the throttle response is better. Slight extra engine sound, but not significant. Should be a pleasant sound with your supercharged engine.

And of course the check engine light stopped coming on.

Mine is starting to show some cracking by the throttle body. If mine gets bad I’ll probably do the Mina.

Yes, I went ahead and ordered the Mina this evening. I couldn't justify spending the same amount on another cheap plastic OEM tube.

Sitting on my bench

It was stuck at the throttle body so tore a little more getting it off, but it was very bad to begin with. And yes, that duct tape was the previous owner's version of a fix.

Installing the Mina pipe was pretty straightforward. It was tight attaching to the air boxes. If I was doing it again, I would have loosened/adjusted them first for easier fitment.
