Dead pedal.

10k miles and the left foot rest is almost threadbare. What do you guys do to address this problem? I saw metal pedal covers from Mina but they're a little pricy.

 

Keep your foot off it.

 

My car is close to 50k miles and that area doesn't show the wear you describe. Granted, I have a 2009 XF, but are they that different?

You may have to splurge on the set of metal pedal covers.

Also (not meant to be a direct attack), the answer above me wasn't very helpful. It's like something broke on your car and your solution is to not drive it?

 

So the pedal metal covers come with a dead pedal also? I agree, this area should be "strengthened" as standard.

 

Demand a warranty repair. No way this is normal wear and tear unless you wear nailed boots or something.
