Dealer Windshield Sun Shade or WeatherTech?
Luckily we are legal here in NC with 35%. It is actually very light and with my white interior it looks lighter than it is. The 3M Chrystalline windshield tint is great at cutting down on the heat and UV.
I had Huper Optiks nano ceramic put on my windshield. Blocks heat and 99% of UV rays and you don't notice it unless you are looking for it. Cost about 300 bucks to have windshield done.
If you decide to go this route make sure installer covers the dash to prevent moisture from getting into stitched leather. It cost his insurance $4300 to replace my dash.

Damn I guess I should have stopped in on this thread to defend myself hahaha. To answer the question no, I would not have to consult my wife about the sun shade if it were my car entirely. It is however her daily driver as I have a company car. I will now return to beating my wife to get her in line
I just got the OEM "XF" shade yesterday and this thing is quality for sure. Maybe it's because I was previously using an $8 cheapy from Target, but this thing not only looks great, is easy to put up and take down stores easily as well. Highly recommend for the $65.

09XFSuper - Where did you end up getting yours done? I'm in your area also and was thinking of doing the same thing when I stumbled on your post.
I am currently out of town but if I remember correctly the place was Charlotte Window Tint on Independence just south of WT Harris. The guy there did a great job on my XF and TbSS.
I'm suprised you where able to sneak that by Onslow County's finest. Aftermarket tint on windsheilds in most states is a no no.
Do you have the link and info on how to contact Nalley and how to get the price of $51 shipped.
Thanks.

I picked up mine off the big e auction site for $65 shipped, perhaps take a look there.
I've removed the details of their issues/mistakes from this post until it's all resolved and clear if we will end up in small claims court or not, etc. I'll do a full detail post once it's all closed out or be happy to answer any questions 1:1 via PM.

I have the sides an rear tinted 35% now and bought the factory shield and love it. Daytime I keep the rear factory sunshade up and it does a noce job of really darkenin the interior of the car, nighttime i put it down and that works nice also
[QUOTE=rbcollins;563186]So I took my 09 XF SC out there to Charlotte Window Tint yesterday to have the same job done as yours (3m crystaline all around) and they ruined the leather dash. Have to take it back up there today and see what they're going to do about it, but there's no repairing it from the water damage. It wasn't just water spots on the leather surface either. Large amounts of water were allowed to soak through the seams and around the edges of the dash which then damaged the formed backing board to which the leather is mounted. Not sure what they did differently process wise than they did with yours, but I really question if they even tried to protect it at all. Irony is I specifically asked/warned about it both via e-mail and over the phone and they still botched it.[/QUOTE
Just got my xf back from dealer yesterday. $2800 to replace damaged dash from tinting.

Did the tint shop cover the repair costs?
